You will be responsible to the Governance and Compliance Manager through the Democratic Services and Governance Manager / Democratic Services and Governance Coordinator for the administration of the democratic business of council, supporting effective governance in accordance with Standing Orders and any relevant regulations and legislation.
You will be responsible for supporting a comprehensive quality support service, including the provision of information and advice on matters relating to all aspects of Elected Member requirements within Belfast City Council, in conjunction with the appropriate officer.
You will Support the democratic methods and practices, contributing to the development and implementation of improvements, as appropriate, to the service plan including service’s digitalisation, process definition and governance within Democratic Services, to maximise its efficiency and effectiveness, in conjunction with the appropriate officer.
You will support the operating and correctly configuring all Democratic Services audio, visual and other necessary equipment to support the democratic process of the council, to include broadcasting, remote meeting as and when required.
You will support the City Solicitor / Democratic Services and Governance Manager to organise all elections in respect of which the Chief Executive is Deputy Returning Officer, providing advice to members of the council and prospective candidates on election procedures.
