You will be responsible to the Assistant Corporate Health and Safety Manager on Health and Safety matters for the Corporate Health and Safety Unit and Belfast City Council.
You will contribute to the ongoing development, delivery and review of an effective corporate health and safety service and strategy which will enable the council to achieve the highest possible standards in health and safety, meet the challenges associated with the delivery of health and safety excellence in a complex and diverse organisation and ensure compliance with its statutory and best practice obligations.
The corporate health and safety strategy encompasses (but is not restricted to) the:
- Corporate Health and Safety Policy
- Corporate Health and Safety Management System (policies, procedures, guidance, forms, templates, information management systems)
- Corporate Health and Safety Risk Register
- Corporate Health and Safety Assurance Framework
- Annual Corporate Health and Safety Plan (including the corporate health and safety priorities, objectives and performance indicators)
- Annual Unit Business Plan (including the health and safety inspection programme, fire risk assessment programme, corporate health and safety training programme)
You will ensure the health, safety and welfare of council employees and others affected by council activities through the efficient and effective delivery of specific work activities allocated to the postholder.
