Pest Operative

Main purpose of job

To be responsible to the Assistant City Protection Manager, through the Pest Control Supervisor to:

• carry out the full range of sewer baiting activities;

• provide assistance to Pest Control Officers and other City Services staff in routine duties;

• assist with drain testing, and

• carry out all duties in an effective and efficient manner and in accordance with all set procedures and the specified time and quality targets.

With over 1,400 staff the City and Neighbourhood Services Department delivers frontline services essential to the daily lives of Belfast residents.  This includes:

• Open Space & Street Scene – Managing parks, green spaces, and street cleansing operations.

• Neighbourhood Development & Regeneration – Overseeing community centres, health and wellbeing initiatives, active living, and community safety.

• Regulatory & City Services – Providing environmental health services, dog and pest control, port health, emergency planning, and bereavement services.

• Strategic Waste Management – Leading waste collection, recycling, and fleet management.
