This is a full-time fixed term contract post until 30 April 2027, subject to review.

The post-holder will report through the relevant manager and will have responsibility for one of the following portfolio areas within Community Provision (Community Services, Good Relations, Community Safety (including PCSP), Waste/Cleansing Education and Awareness, Community Parks Outreach, Health and Wellbeing, Sports Development and Open Spaces and Active Living (OSAL)):
Post 1 – Assets Optimisation and Programming
Post 2 – Strategic Partnerships, Funding and Capacity
To assist the relevant manager in ensuring optimum service delivery of allocated Community Provision portfolio in line with the Belfast Agenda, Belfast: Our Recovery, the Transition & Improvement Programme and other council initiatives.
To be responsible through the relevant manager for performance within their allocated portfolio and lead on the development of strategic plans, operational plans and performance indicators to embed a culture of continuous improvement and ensure targets and customer service standards are met.
To deliver effective, efficient and innovative approaches to service delivery whilst overseeing the appropriate and efficient use of resources for their allocated portfolios and contribution to strategic objectives
To assist the relevant manager and Senior Officers in ensuring the integration and mobilisation of staff across Community Provision at both a citywide and area level in support of the Council’s overall strategic objectives.
To be responsible through the relevant manager for proactively leading and participating in change and improvement projects and embedding a culture of change and improvement across all staffing levels within Community Provision.
